While my professional career has taken on different forms, the common denominator has always been my passion for storytelling.
For the first several years, I harnessed that through the journalism serving stints at The Oconee Enterprise, The Lake Oconee News and The Covington News.
Today, I use the skills I sharpened in the journalism world as Loganville Christian Academy’s (LCA) Social Media/Communications Coordinator. In this role, I share the school’s story through social media channels, photos, press releases and blog posts.
To keep my byline active, I freelance with The Newton Citizen and The Newton Community Magazine. My work at each place primarily revolves around feature stories with game articles sprinkled in from time-to-time with The Citizen.
I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. I’d like to consider myself a people person and I never meet a stranger. By developing that trait — plus interviewing these individuals — I have told some incredibly meaningful stories.
That’s why I’m a storyteller at heart.

“Behind the Bark” was a podcast I did my last two semesters at UGA. The podcast’s focus was on discussing behind-the-scenes stories on UGA athletics. Through mine and my co-host’s Grady Sports credentials, we gained access to players and coaches for a look behind a few of the UGA athletic teams. We also discussed topics surrounding UGA sports.
The podcast ran from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 2019.
“The Senior Spotlight” was a podcast I did during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of this pandemic, high school senior athletes in Georgia were robbed of a senior night ceremony. Since I’ve reported on and broadcasted numerous senior night ceremonies, I know the joy those bring to athletes and their parents. That was the purpose of this podcast: to give each spring senior athlete their moment in the sun. The podcast ran from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 2019.
